Best of Show: Natalie Blake's "Purple Urchin"

Congratulations to ceramic artist Natalie Blake, the “2008 Art in the Round Contest” Best of Show winner and recipient of a $3,000 cash award.

Natalie won with her entry “Purple Urchin”, a hand-thrown, carved porcelain vessel with hand-thrown/built porcelain lid.  Beautiful!

The Art in the Round Contest is hosted by online gallery, BeautifulBowls.com.  BeautifulBowls supports craftsmen through this competition by providing them with online exposure, cash awards, and sales opportunities.

The 2008 Art in the Round Contest is a publicly juried competition for fine craft artists featuring creative 3-dimensional interpretations of the vessel form.  This year’s competition will soon come to a close and winners will be announced over the next 3 weeks.  State Finalists and 1st Place winners in each media category will be announced after November 15th.  The Best of Show winner will be announced by December 1st. 

The competition is publicly juried.  If you’d like to participate in next year’s voting process, just email us and we’ll add you to our contact list.
