Artist’s Statement: My work is not about me, it’s about my relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If it were up to me, I would run and hide when circumstances like the frustrations of rewiring a kiln, or the heartache of labor intensive pieces that break during firing cloud my vision. It is by His grace given freely to me, that I roll out the clay and start all over again.
I really love and enjoy what I do! I try to have fun and hope that people get a sense of this joy when they view my work.
Medium: Clay! Clay! Clay! I used to work two-dimensionally. Clay has given me the freedom to really bring what is on the inside of myself to the outside world. It is a daunting thing to be able to bring that into being which was not.
Artistic Resume: I majored in art in high school and college. Over the past thirty years, I have taught myself most of what I know, passing it on to students in various venues along the way.
I have won several awards for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works with the most recent being the Merit Award from the Buyer’s Market of American Craft, summer 2008.
I continue to produce and sell ceramic art from my home studio.
