Artist’s Statement: I grew up making art. My mother was a painter so it came to me naturally. I am inspired by the flora and fauna of Georgia’s river and costal habitats. I use diamond engraving and rich overlays of colored glass to express a playfulness and joy in human interdependence with the natural world.
When I create a work of art, it is like painting with glass and light. I work on a light table, cutting and assembling the glass freely, then adding diamond engraved details and hot worked accents which will later be melted together in the kiln.
Medium: Glass. I love the versatility of glass as a medium. It has an almost magical diversity of physical qualities and endless possibilities. The interactions of glass and light make a very exciting palatte.
Artistic Resume:
I hold a BFA in Art Education from the University of Georgia and have taught art for many years. Early on I was introduced to glass as a medium by a friend and have been on a journey of creative discovery ever since. I predominantly wholesale my work to galleries across the US.

I knew Christie many, many years ago when living in Athens, GA. Always wondered what happened to a lot of the old crowd and am thrilled to know she is still producing such beautiful art.
