Lauren Bellero is a “2008 Art in the Round Contest” participant.
Artist’s Statement: I am a full time stoneware potter working in my New Jersey home studio. I fire glazed work in my electric kiln at home, and pit fired work in my large pit located in Ontario, Canada. My focus is decorative/functional works.
I love clay. The process of forming and firing 3-dimensional objects of beauty (at least to me!) is at the same time exciting and soothing. Working with clay provides a creative outlet and a sense of balance.
Artistic Resume: I concentrate on local juried art shows, though I occasionally venture into the national scene. In 2005, one of my hand built bowls was given the “Award for Innovation” at the Strictly Functional Pottery National. Some of my work has been printed in issues of “Clay Times”, the most recent being the May/June 2008 Readers Gallery.
