Woven baskets by Linda Scherz Allen (copyright Linda Scherz Allen)
Artist’s Statement: The art of basket weaving has allowed me the opportunity to use my imagination, challenge myself and express myself within my weaving. Through designing, weaving, and teaching I have been able to share my talent and joy of this art with many others.
Artistic Medium: As a basket designer and maker, I work with a variety of materials including reed, seagrass, and various wood handles. I also weave with different barks that I harvest myself, waxed linen and beads, some ash and various materials that I like to experiment with and incorporate in my weaving.
