Artist’s Statement: I turn sculptural and functional bowls, platters, and other items from Northern California burlwood. I specialize in natural edge turning, utilizing the outer surface of the burl to achieve a sculptural effect. Wood burl allows me to use the eccentric characteristics of burl to maximize the natural effects of my turnings.
Artistic Resume: I started turning as a hobby in 1990 to allow me an outlet from running my company. Three years later I sold my company and have been turning out gallery pieces ever since. I try to produce beautiful artwork that all can afford.
