Sam Scott is a “2008 Art in the Round Contest” participant.
Artist’s Statement: I have been a ceramic artist working in Seattle since 1969. I work primarily in porcelain on the potters wheel. My work is defined by it’s functional simplicity and surface decoration.
Artistic Medium: I work with porcelain because of it’s white translucence. On my brushwork pieces, it enhances the color of the marks made. In my black and white work, it is a great contrast to my matte black glaze. It can be a difficult material to work with, but the surface is like no other clay body.
Artistic Resume: Over the years I have had work in various galleries, museums and collections.
