Artist’s Statement: I am a self taught artist. Weaving, for me, is a lot like painting. I have created my own technique of weaving where I lay down layers of colored reeds and it brings forth subtle textures. The technique is called “dimensional weaving”, as shown in the sculptural wall hanging in the above image. The bittersweet vine dictates the shape of my baskets and I enjoy the act of weaving because I am able to express my artistic thoughts.
